Ingredients

Potatoes — 1 kg
Green onions — 0.5 beam
Garlic — 0.5 heads
Vegetable oil — 1 tbsp. + For frying
Salt — to taste
Ground black pepper — to taste
Egg of chicken — 1-2 pcs.
Crackers — 100 g
Cheese — 50 g
Paprika — to taste
Hops-Suneli — to taste
Wheat flour — if necessary

Cooking process

Potato balls are a simple, tasty and easy-to-prepare snack that will bring a pleasant variety to the daily menu and, if necessary, give a new life to the remnants of yesterday’s mashed potatoes. Formed in miniature balls, wrapped in a golden, slightly crispy breading, even the usual and nothing in itself noteworthy mashed potatoes, acquires a bright, appetizing appearance and a very seductive taste. Try it!

To prepare mashed potatoes with cheese and cheese, prepare the ingredients in the list.

Pour the potatoes with cold water, add 1-2 pinch of salt, bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes until done. Then drain the hot water and lightly cool the potatoes.

Peel the potatoes from the peel and mash until smooth mashed.

Finely chop the garlic and fry on a small fire in a small amount of vegetable oil until golden brown. Alternatively, the garlic can be wrapped in foil and baked in the oven until soft.

Add to the mashed potatoes roasted garlic, chopped green onions, a little salt, 1 tbsp. Vegetable or butter and ground black pepper to taste.

Mix everything well, and then completely cool the mashed potatoes. To prepare potato balls, yesterday’s mashed potatoes are also suitable.

Crush the crackers to the state of small crumbs.
Add the grated cheese, a little paprika, hops-suneli, salt and ground black pepper to taste. Mix everything well.
In a separate container, break the chicken egg. Lightly beat the chicken egg with a fork until smooth.

Wet in hands with water, form small balls from the cooled potato puree. If you use for the preparation of balls mashed potatoes, which lacks viscosity, add in the puree a little wheat flour.

Each potato ball dip into turns in flour and beaten egg, and then roll in a prepared breading of crushed crackers.
Lay the potato balls with cheese on a sheet of baking paper, greased with vegetable oil. Place the oven in a preheated oven to 200-225 degrees and bake 15 minutes until golden brown.

During cooking, mashed potatoes can slightly increase in size, and as a result — their breading may slightly crack, and the balls themselves — slightly deformed, but on their wonderful taste this does not adversely affect.
